Join the Black Lives Matter Morrisville Protest on Saturday, July 11th, 2020, 2-4pm!! We will meet at 2pm at Williamson Park and proceed to line the sidewalks of Bridge Street, Delmorr Avenue and W. Trenton Avenue, with signs and chants until 3pm. At 3pm, we will return to the park for speakers and solidarity.
The demonstration led by community members on July 11th is a peaceful, family-friendly protest against racism, state sanctioned violence and hate. There will be youth and community members speaking, along with music and information on racial justice, and a sign processional of a history of racism in the US and action steps toward racial justice provided by the NAACP of Bucks County.
All are welcome to join us in peace and anti-racist solidarity, and masks and social distancing are required. Remember your water and family-friendly signs!
All participants are asked to remain safely on the sidewalks, keeping driveways and streets clear. Please help us keep our community clean by removing any litter during the demonstration.
The organizers are in contact with the local police in order to protect our Constitutional rights and to ensure a safe and peaceful demonstration.
In addition to our protest goals of a community and world free of racism, violence and hate, we plan to create a Morrisville-based community group focused on action against racism and in support of people of color in our community.
Many in our community are hurting from racism and racist violence, whether in our schools, streets, workplaces and elsewhere. Please join us on July 11th to take a united stand for peace, healing and anti-racist action.
