The Black Lives Matter vigil on Lincoln Drive returns this Tuesday May 24. We mark the second anniversary of the murder of George Floyd, when we began our vigil nearly two years ago, and mourn escalating racist violence, including the mass shooting that took the lives of 10 Black people in Buffalo NY last week.

We are returning as a WEEKLY vigil, taking place every Tuesday from 5-6pm in front of the Unitarian Society of Germantown Church at 6511 Lincoln Drive.

The vigil originally began as “Standing in Solidarity for Racial Justice,” one week after the murder of George Floyd on May 25, 2020, and continued as a daily presence during the evening rush hour, Monday through Friday for nearly two years.

Please join us for this peaceful, family-friendly event. We have placards you can use, or bring your own. “Black Lives Matter” lawn signs also available for $10 donation, including metal stand.

We do not meet on holidays or in bad weather. Please check on this page if the weather looks iffy on the day.

Parking available behind the church, and can be accessed from Johnson St, between Green and Wayne.
