Families across the country are mourning George Floyd and Breonna Taylor and too many others — and crying out for a world in which Black Lives Matter.
ParentsTogether Action, MomsRising.org, Women’s March and the Working Families Party are holding a Families Virtual Protest for Black Lives this Saturday at 2 p.m. ET. It’ll be a short, powerful family-friendly protest livestream with music, inspiring youth and adult speakers, and opportunities for your family to take action together. You can join from your living room!
**The virtual protest will be on Facebook Live. Check back here at 2 ET on Saturday to watch the livestream! **
Please bring a sign or art supplies in order to make a sign in support of Black Lives for this event! We’ll be asking families to post pics with their signs during the protest. This helps us spread the word about the fight for Black lives.
This protest will be streamed over Facebook Live. RSVP to get notified when it starts, and please spread the word!
Note: The event will be family-oriented, but speakers will talk about police violence and the murder of George Floyd, so we encourage parents to use your own judgment about whether very young kids should attend.
We will also have closed captions – thank you to Joshua B. Edwards for providing these!
