With wildfire smoke choking the air we breathe, hurricanes and floods threatening our homes, global wars threatening lives, and toxic pollution making us sick, it has never been more urgent to end our dependence on the leading cause of these crises- fossil fuels.

In New York this September, the United Nations will gather world leaders for the first-of-its-kind Climate Ambition Summit to demand nations stop developing new oil, gas and coal projects and begin phasing out fossil fuels once and for all. With his recent approvals of mega-polluting projects like the Willow Oil Drilling Project and the Mountain Valley Pipeline, President Biden must immediately reverse course to earn his seat at the table. But it will take all of us acting together to make sure he does.

People Versus Fossil Fuels, a coalition of over 1,200 groups pressuring President Biden to
declare a climate emergency and stop the federal approval of all new fossil fuel projects, is
leading a March to End Fossil Fuels in New York City on September 17. XR Philly, Delaware,
Baltimore and many local organizations have joined this effort as the Mid Atlantic Climate
Coalition hub and we need you to make this as big as it can possibly be.

We obtained a bus to take us there and bring us back home. To reserve a seat and obtain
payment instructions, select the link with the most convenient pickup location and time:

  • Curtis Bay Rec Center, 1630 Filbert St, Baltimore, MD at 6 am
  • Chase Riverfront Center, 815 Justison St, Wilmington, DE at 7:30 am
  • 30th Street Station, 2955 Market St, Philadelphia, PA at 8:15 am

We are scheduled to leave New York City and start our journey home at 5 pm.
In addition to the march, XRNYC is hosting September Week Of Actions. They are looking for volunteers for a variety roles. This is a great way to get further involved with the movement.

As we navigate through the many forms of oppression, grieve from the continual loss of life and bear witness to the decline of moral justice, participating with others helps ease these burdens.

Whether it’s sharing your thoughts and feelings, marching, chanting or volunteering, these nonviolent expressions ease the feelings of sorrow and anger. Don’t be alone during these crises.

Join the movement, and help us change this toxic system.
