Philadelphia’s Taney Street is named for Supreme Court Justice Roger Taney, the author of the Dred Scott decision that ruled that Black people aren’t U.S. citizens.
RENAME TANEY STREET DAY on Saturday, June 20th at 12:00pm noon is a kid-friendly, mask-wearing, social-distancing walk along Taney Street (located between 26th and 27th streets in Center City). Taney Street runs non-consecutively through the city, so we need great turnout to have our voices heard loud and clear. Homemade signs and chants encouraged!
Starts at Markward Playground at Pine St and Taney St.
